THE HOUSE OF RUM was born from the imagination of a Guadeloupe dynasty: the THE VINE
Grand father Gerard La Viny nicknamed by the media “The Ambassador of the Antilles”, composer among others of the hits “Sans Chemises, Sans Pants” and “Ban Mwin un ti Bo”, a great lover of Rum, initiated his son Eddy La Viny and her grandson Tom la viny with flavors of charming beverage, during endless nights around a guitar and a checkerboard.
Artist too, Eddy La Viny has recorded numerous albums, performed atOlympia headlining and touring the world in the direction of " La Viny Show ". He is regularly requested as a Consultant for the Rum guide Gault & Millau and was an official juror at General Agricultural Competition 2018, in the Old Rums Hors d'Age category. Tom La Viny is meanwhile, a great lover of spirits and cigars.
Years later, Eddy and Tom THE VINE have realized this idea of ​​bringing together in one place, the whole world of Rum: Old rum, white, amber, vintage, exceptional, vintage, arranged, punch but also books on Rum, specific glassware, mignonettes collection, enameled plates, tasting accessories, etc.
LA MAISON DU RHUM now has 2 stores. The first is located at Montmartre, 3 bis rue de Carpeaux, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, and the second, since December 2019, is located 10 rue Léon Cogniet, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
